Gus Sauter, who heads up Vanguard Asset Management's UK operations, says that despite dismal returns on the stock market in recent years, passive investing or 'buy and hold' is still the best strategy for long-term investors. Wishing that 'there must be something better' doesn't mean that there IS something better.
